BYD executives have outlined plans to strengthen vehicle servicing, spare parts supply and technical training in Nepal in an interview published by The Kathmandu Post on October 16. The discussion with Feng Erdong and Liu Xiaofeng shifts attention from vehicle sales to the support needed after purchase. Their comments are company plans and assessments, rather than an independent measure of customer satisfaction or proof that every proposed facility is already operating.
Feng identified local road conditions and supply disruptions as issues affecting maintenance and parts availability. He described plans for another warehouse, quicker distribution to workshops and training for Nepali technicians. The interview also refers to proposed cooperation with universities and high schools through internships. These are stated priorities, not a published admissions scheme or a guarantee of shorter repair times. The account does not establish a new universal service price, a nationwide repair deadline or an opening date for the proposed warehouse.
Earlier reporting provides a concrete view of the network expansion behind the interview. Meroauto reported on October 13 that authorised distributor Cimex had opened a Bhaktapur service facility and begun a separate Dallu project in Kathmandu. The Bhaktapur premises cover 25,072.60 square feet and were developed around a 3S concept, combining sales, servicing and spare parts. The report nevertheless says a showroom was expected to open later. Describing the site as a 3S development should not erase the distinction between its operational service area and components still being prepared.
Meroauto counted eight service bays at Bhaktapur, of which five were operating, with the remaining three to be activated as demand increased. It also described design choices drawing on Bhaktapur’s architectural heritage. Dallu was at the foundation stone stage, intended to add servicing capacity in the Valley. A groundbreaking is a construction milestone, not the same event as a centre opening to customers. The October 16 interview adds management’s broader priorities to these earlier facility developments without turning them into newly completed projects.
The service discussion also follows an earlier customer support initiative. On August 11, The Himalayan Times reported the launch of Cimex’s BYD Update to Care+ campaign at Guheshwori. That report organised the initiative into Care+, Connect+ and Protect+. Its stated scope included inspections, diagnostics, genuine parts and certified servicing; connectivity support such as app activation; and ownership support including insurance consultation and warranty guidance. Those details describe the programme as announced in August. They are not a fresh October offer or confirmation that every vehicle qualifies for every component.
The August report listed 13 service locations across Nepal and identified Bhaktapur, Dallu and Lahan as planned additions. The later Bhaktapur opening therefore fits an expansion previously signalled, while Dallu remains a project in the newer facility coverage. This sequence matters because owners outside Kathmandu also depend on access to servicing and parts. It shows that the public discussion of support predates today’s executive interview, rather than beginning with a single new showroom announcement.
As analysis, the verified developments point to three distinct questions for Nepal’s EV market: physical servicing capacity, the movement of spare parts and the availability of trained workers. Adding a building addresses only part of that system. The executives’ training and warehouse proposals are relevant because they concern the other parts, but their practical effects will require later evidence. For now, the news is a fresh statement of priorities alongside an operating Bhaktapur service facility and a separately developing Dallu site.
